House rules
A reading room only works if everyone in it can concentrate. These rules are how we keep it that way.
Silence in the hall
- Keep your phone on silent. Take calls outside the hall.
- Whisper only when you must.
- Keep typing and mouse clicks quiet.
Your cabin
- One person, one cabin. Do not hold extra seats with bags.
- Do not move desks or chairs between cabins.
- Leave the cabin tidy. Bags go under the desk or in a locker.
Food and rest
- Eat and drink tea outside the hall. Water bottles are fine.
- No sleeping in the hall. If you feel unwell, tell reception.
- No smoking, alcohol, paan or gutka anywhere on the premises.
Safety and shared things
- Do not leave valuables unattended. Use a locker.
- Return newspapers and books to the shelf after reading.
- Report spills, damage or anything that makes you uncomfortable to reception at once.
Come and sit in a cabin before you decide.
Reception will show you the hall, and you can stay for the day on a day pass.
- Walk in 5 AM to 10 PM
- No appointment needed
- Day pass from Rs 150
